Thanks to Marnie Reynolds-Bourque for her incredible talents. She brings my words to life with such joy and goodness. I am most surprised about how much I love Roly Poly, and this is because of her! I have a wall in our home that is a tribute to our trip to Ireland, so I had to pose by it with my latest book, in the form of a proof!

The next rhyming picture book is a tribute to Barbara Henry, who was a hero during the Civil Rights Movement. She taught Ruby Bridges when no one else would. Watch for "The Best Barbara of All," due to be released in July 2026.
Marnie Reynolds-Bourque continues to beautifully illustrate my picture books. We have struck up a wonderful partnership and friendship. We both understand what it is like to be creative.

Sandra Haynes Ginalski, author of "Roly Poly Guacamole," is lovingly referred to by her grandchildren (Robbie, Jeremy and Kathryn) as "Gigi Boat." She has been an educator for 35 years. Sandra earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Elms College, her Master's Degree from Rhode Island College and is a National Board
Sandra Haynes Ginalski, author of "Roly Poly Guacamole," is lovingly referred to by her grandchildren (Robbie, Jeremy and Kathryn) as "Gigi Boat." She has been an educator for 35 years. Sandra earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Elms College, her Master's Degree from Rhode Island College and is a National Board Certified Teacher. She enjoys sea glass hunting, photography, gardening, traveling and writing amusing poems. She lives in Rehoboth, Massachusetts with her life partner, David. This is her first published book, but certainly not her last!
